Skagit Regional Health Board of Commissioners Approves Purchase of da Vinci Robotic Surgical System

Skagit Regional Health will be the first healthcare system north of Everett to offer the da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System. This advanced, robotic-assisted technology is used across a spectrum of minimally invasive surgical procedures.

The Skagit Regional Health Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of the $2 million system that has been optimized for surgeries in the areas of gynecology, urology, thoracic, cardiac and general surgery. The da Vinci® Xi™ will be available this summer at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon to general surgeons, urologists and OB/GYNs who are trained to use the robotic computer and optical technologies that allow surgeons to perform complex procedures through small incisions as an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy.
