Skagit County Tulip Festival has been part of the City of Mount Vernon since the early 1980’s. Plan on driving between fields, Display Gardens and Festival Events. Here’s what you need to know in order to make the best of your tulip experience:
- Bloom dates are according to weather, check back daily or weekly before your trip
- Beat the crowds during the week versus the weekend
- Dress Code: Dress for all four seasons
- Plan on driving between fields, Display Gardens, and Festival Events
- Two display gardens both have their own fees – Roozengaarde & Tulip Town
The Mission of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is to coordinate and promote a countywide Spring celebration of the tulip bloom, in commemoration of the valley’s annual tulip harvest, and to be an advocate for Skagit Valley agriculture. The Tulip Festival is designed as a driving tour as there is no one “site” to enter. The fields of tulips are scattered throughout the Skagit Valley as are the many events and activities that comprise the festival. The tulip fields are the crops of RoozenGaarde/Washington Bulb Co., Inc. and Tulip Town. Due to crop rotation, the fields are in different locations each year. Both RoozenGaarde and Tulip Town also have displays of tulips in gardens for visitors to view and photograph. Read more about the festival and all the great events on the Tulip Festival’s website.
