Are you looking for a fun evening out with friends, neighbors and visitors in the Skagit Valley? Well, if you’re a fan of beer, wine, and getting to know the community, this festival will be the ideal opportunity to sample the fare and mingle with others.
The Skagit Wine and Beer Festival event takes place on November 23rd at Eaglemont in Mount Vernon. Hosting the VIP lounge this year is the Hotel Bellwether, from the bay in Bellingham. As usual, there are different levels of ticketing, depending on the kind of experience you’d like to have.
If you’re looking to sample some of the best microbrews, wines, cheese, and chocolate made in the area, make sure you buy a ticket today. Read on for more information about the event, and find out who you can visit at the Skagit Wine and Beer Festival.
Skagit Valley Microbrews
As a haven for all kinds of local producers, the Skagit Valley has no shortage of microbrews to share. Here are just a portion of the participants you can expect to see on the night.
192 Brewing
First up is 192 Brewing who is famous for their Wutende Ziege (Furious Goat) Dusseldorf Alt style ale with deep, toasty malt flavors.
In addition to this feisty sounding brew, 192 Brewing has a Lake Trail Pale Ale with a light body and a slight tang. Other notable brews include the Happy Dance Heff (American style wheat beer), Wally Hop IPA (a very hoppy IPA), an Amber Rye, ‘nilla Stout, Shed Light (light-bodied pale ale), and finally, the Shticky Blonde, which is their flagship beer (Kölsch style brewed with wild honey gathered in foothills of Mt. Rainier).
Farmstrong Brewing Co.
Another favorite in the Mount Vernon area is Farmstrong Brewing Co. This proudly local brewery is passionate about making consistent improvements to their beer and using locally sourced grain.
Some of their most well-known brews include their Skagit Pilsner, Valley Gold Lager, their festive sounding La Raza Amber Lager, and an enthusiastically hop-infused Stoned Age IPA. Others on their list include the Mount Baker Black Lager, Cover Crop Pale Ale, the Strata Single Hop, and Fresh Out of Ideas IPA.
Skagit River Brewery (SRB)
The Skagit River Brewery (SRB) brings an exciting seasonal approach to brewing, with Jenny’s Scotch Ale (which is released annually in June for the Highland Games), the Trumpeter Stout (released annually in January), and Oktoberfest (which is released annually in mid-September).
If you don’t manage to try any of these at the Skagit Wine and Beer Festival, you can also have a pint of one of their several other beer options. These include a Lazy Hiker Hefe (Hefeweizen), the NWIPA (Northwest IPA), the Resurrection IPA, and the Yellow Jacket Pale Ale.
Skagit Valley Wineries
Of course, there are several participating wineries in the event too. Some of the local favorites you meet up with at the Skagit Wine and Beer Festival include:
Tulip Valley
A proudly family-run enterprise, Tulip Valley is known for its handcrafted red and white table wines, as well as their award-winning Burro Loco cider, which is made from locally grown apples.
With a relaxed and laid back approach to enjoying the best produce that the region has to offer, Tulip Valley brings a warmth and energy that you’ll no doubt enjoy when visiting their stand at the event.
Skagit Crest
Another family-owned venture in the area, Skagit Crest produces most of its wines from the 5-acre estate. With a range of wines on offer, you’ll be spoilt with white, red, and rose options, which include: Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Noir Rosé.
With such a variety of wines, it’s no surprise that they’re also passionate about complimenting their wines with quality Pacific Northwest cuisine.
Skagit Valley Distilleries
Valley Shine Distillery
Housed in a 100-year old building, the Valley Shine Distillery perfectly rounds up this list of producers who will be showcasing their products at the Skagit Wine and Beer event. With an approach to creating well-crafted cocktails in a rustic space, there is no doubt that they will bring this same ambiance to the Hotel Bellwether in November.
How to Make the Most of the Skagit Wine and Beer Festival
Although we’ve mentioned some of the microbrews, wines, and spirits exhibiting at this year’s festival, the only way to truly find out more about what is on offer is to visit the festival yourself!
